Task :

The purpose of this task is for you to find out about the Greenhouse Effect and Global Warming. Once you have an understanding of the concepts and consequences associated with them, you can decide for yourself whether or not it all has anything to do with you and whether you can do anything about it.

You will need to research and gather information, form your own opinions based upon your research and then present your information, backing it up with sound reasoning.

The questions you will need to answer are:

• What is the Greenhouse Effect?
• What is Global Warming and what do we think causes it?
• What changes/problems does it appear that Global Warming can cause or result in?
• If the Earth is getting abnormally warmer, is there anything that can be done to try to stop it?

Your final products will include:

• An original (that is, one that you design and create) colour diagram, model or electronic presentation that simply explains the Greenhouse Effect and Global Warming.
• A series of "Cool Solutions" that will help your family or your class to fight Global Warming.
• A letter to the Editor of your school newsletter simply answering the following questions:
  • What is the Greenhouse Effect?
  • What is Global Warming and what are its possible consequences?
  • Can the school community help stop Global Warming? Why should the school community help stop Global Warming
