What can we all do to help to cool global warming?

Follow these 10 easy ways to reduce Western Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions:
- Walk, cycle or use public transport.
- Use compact fluorescent lights (which are more energy efficient than standard electric bulbs).
- Purchase the highest energy-efficient appliances (check the “star” rating).
- Insulate your home and save on heating and cooling costs. Add insulation to electric hot water units.
- Cut hot water consumption by washing clothes in cold water and by fitting a water-efficient shower head.
- Support renewable energy.
- Service your family car regularly and when buying a new car, choose one that is fuel-efficient.
- If your family is building a house, then rate the energy efficiency of your new home design.
- Plant, protect and conserve existing trees and shrubs.
- Dress appropriately for the season: Wear a jumper rather than turning on your heater in winter.
