Shine under the sun in our Solar Competitions :

Western Australian students relish the chance to demonstrate their talent and scientific know-how at three exciting Western Power competitions.

Through these popular competitions, students discover imaginative ways to use solar energy.

At the Western Power Solar Cook-off year five, six and seven students sizzle up sensational food in their own solar cookers, which they have designed and built by themselves at school. This competition is held annually in First Term.

World of Energy invites primary schools to enter the Western Power Solar Model Boat Challenge. Students will design, build and race their solar powered model boats for the opportunity to also represent Western Australia in the Australian-International Solar Model Challenge.

Western Power Solar Model Boat Challenge

During the Western Power Solar Model Car Challenge secondary school students design, build and race their model cars under the sun. The winners get the chance to represent Western Australia in the Australian-International Solar Model Challenge.

The Western Power Solar Model Car and Boat Challenges are held in October.
