Sizzle up a sensation at our Solar Cook-off!

Students from Yidarra Catholic Primary School (Team A – there were four team members)

A wide range of prizes are awarded to primary schools and students at the Annual Western Power Solar Cook-off.

During the competition, enterprising primary school students use the sun’s energy to create a variety of meals in their self-constructed solar cookers at the Western Power educational centre, World of Energy, at 12 Parry Street Fremantle.

The competition is open to Year Five, Six and Seven students from metropolitan schools. The Tenth Annual Western Power Solar Cook-off was held on Tuesday 8 April 2008.

The Solar Cook-off encourages active learning about renewable energy and the environment and students enjoy the opportunity to demonstrate their scientific, engineering and cooking skills.
