Western Power Solar cook-off

 

How to enter the Solar Cook-off!

Term 4, World of Energy will send a poster to all metropolitan primary schools, inviting them to enter the Annual Solar Cook-off.

During Term 1 of the following year, participating schools create and design their own solar cookers. The students can work in teams or individually, with assistance from their teacher and/or parents.
The participating schools enter the best solar cookers in the World of Energy competition.


What it was like in the back car park at World of Energy.

The event is held in April during the last week of Term 1
. Every participating student needs to bring their solar cooker, thermometer, lunch, a drink and a hat. Parents or teachers transporting the students will find suitable parking near the World of Energy building.

On arrival
, the school groups will be directed as to where they can set up their cookers for the competition. Each cooker needs to be equipped with their own thermometer.

Judging
will take place throughout the Solar Cook-off, with prizes awarded at the event’s conclusion.
